Reusable quiz engine

Enhancing online safety education for primary school students.

      Project Overview

Be Secure is an interactive quiz designed to educate middle and upper primary school students about online safety.

The project involved updating an outdated Flash-based quiz, refining the content, and creating a new product to deliver educational material in a fun friendly way.

Background

Be Secure was developed in response to the growing need for children to understand the importance of keeping their personal information and devices safe in the digital age. The original quiz, built in Flash, required a complete overhaul to ensure compatibility with modern devices and browsers. The goal was to create an interactive and educational platform that would resonate with primary school students while aligning with the Australian Primary Schools learning curriculum.

Project Scope and Objectives

As the Product Designer on the project, I was responsible for refining the original content provided by a subject matter expert. The content was carefully reviewed and condensed to ensure clarity and conciseness, making it more accessible to the target audience. Additionally, I took charge of the UX and UI design, as well as the creation of character illustrations, to enhance the overall user experience.

      Project Approach

Exploring different ways on how kids interact in a digital space.

To bring the project to life, I collaborated closely with my team of designers, who implemented the concepts using the corresponding themes. This collaborative effort resulted in a visually appealing and engaging interface that has captured the students' attention. Our team also included Full-Stack developers who brought my vision to life.

Reusable quiz engine

In addition to what you can see, we created a reusable quiz engine, allowing for the development of similar resources in a shorter timeframe. Multiple outcome options were incorporated to provide flexibility and reduce costs for future resources.

Printable certificate and badges, lesson plans and printable games

To round out the resources for teachers accompanying lessons plans, videos, as well as interactive memory games were created by the Education experts at eSafety.

My role

My role spread across UI, UX, PO, Product Manger, brand, illustration and delivery.
